Kohl’s Center for Safe Transportation of Children
Established in 2004, the Kohl’s Center for Safe Transportation of Children at Riley Hospital is generously funded by Kohl’s Department Stores.
The Kohl’s Cares for Kids program raises funds for children’s hospitals nationwide, benefiting health and educational opportunities for children in the communities they serve. In Kohl’s stores throughout Indiana, customers can purchase high-quality special gift items for just $5, knowing that 100 percent of the net profits go directly to fund local hospital based programs.
In this country, a child is seriously injured or killed in a motor vehicle crash every 90 seconds. The Kohl’s Center for Safe Transportation of Children helps Riley Hospital provide much-needed education to help parents keep their children safe, as well as develop and provide specialty transportation services to Indiana residents.
Staffed by expertly trained and certified child passenger safety technicians, the Kohl’s Center at Riley Hospital offers the following services:
- Individualized consultations with families, health care professionals or transportation providers.
- Hands-on evaluations by an occupational therapist to determine appropriate child restraints.
- Purchases of specialized child restraints through families’ insurance providers.
- One-on-one demonstrations with families to teach them how to properly use and install their car safety seats.
If you are a resident of Indiana and would like to make an appointment or discuss your child’s specific transportation needs, call (800) 620-0143. To read more about child passenger safety, click here. To read more about special needs transportation, click here.
