Recalls

Sometimes child safety seats are recalled because they are not compliant to FMVSS 213. Child safety seats can be recalled for a variety of reasons, some major and some minor. Child safety seat manufacturers are responsible for providing consumers with corrective actions that fix or replace recalled child safety seats.

All new child safety seats have a registration card attached. It is important for consumers to complete and mail the registration card so that they can be notified in the event of a recall.

Consumers can also call the specific child safety seat manufacturer for recall information or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s hot-line, 1-888-DASH-2-DOT or click here for more information.
